New Location Selected for the Tampa Florida Temple

A new location has been announced by the First Presidency for the Tampa Florida Temple. The single-story temple of approximately 29,000 square feet will be constructed on a 12-acre site located at 9445 Camden Fields Parkway, Riverview, Florida. The first Latter-day Saint congregation in the Big Bend region was created in 1897. By 1904, there were 1,230 Church members in Florida, and today, there are nearly 173,000.

Exterior Rendering Released for the Tampa Florida Temple

An official exterior rendering of the Tampa Florida Temple has been released to the public. The 30,000-square-foot building will be constructed on a 16.2-acre site adjacent to an existing meetinghouse at 4806 Bell Shoals Road in Valrico. Plans to construct the temple were announced by President Russell M. Nelson on April 3, 2022. It will be the fourth temple constructed in the state.

Tampa Florida Temple to Be Built Adjacent to Meetinghouse

The location of the Tampa Florida Temple site has been announced as a 16.2-acre property where a meetinghouse stands at 4806 Bell Shoals Road in Valrico. Plans call for a single-story temple of approximately 30,000 square feet that will be constructed behind the meetinghouse. It will be the fourth temple constructed in Florida. Two have been dedicated in Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Another is under construction in Tallahassee. And a fifth Floridian temple was recently announced for Jacksonville.
